i have the aspire one 120GB HDD model with windows standard.

i was watching tnkgrl's video on adding bluetooth and she points out a yellow area on the motherboard where she says you could easily solder an additional mini PCIe card since it is not being used for anything.

so i was thinking i could do that and then place the slot in the empty area where some have reported having a second slot on the bottom of the machine and then add the ability to put in a mini PCI 3G sim card radio? or even one without the 3G slot but designed to work on AT&T?

any ideas on where to buy the proper mini PCIe card?

    hope that made sense :)

    thanks

I have the connector - but someone needs to solder it in to the mini-PCi vacant pad on the board. Let me know if someone wants it. I have 4 and can ship it out.

What is the height of the connector you've got to use on the AA1 to make sure the mini PCIe card sits properly? There are a few different heights you can get, but I haven't gotten a chance to do any measurements for myself yet.
