add/remove software

    Whenever I enter the module "add/remove software" it starts with collecting software information. That takes ages (up to 10 minutes).
    However, normally I don't need the full information on the packages. Normally I enter this modul since I got advice on a specific software and I would like to search first, if that software is in the package.
    So why does this module not start with options, one being searching the other full listing of the package content?
