Just puzzled and wonder if software people can explain.
Have the aa1 linux linpus model, finally have followed the articles where you enter the coding for the xfce4 desktop config files and basically change the default email client to thunderbird.
What worked was to amend AME to mozilla-thunderbird
However when i looked in the file system usr/share/applications/thunderbird/desktop

    ie NOT mozilla-thunderbird

can anyone explain -basic language please.

    thanks in advance
