    Hi,
I have a AAO 110 (linpus, 521, 8Gb ssd...) but I'm complet newbie in linux.
I've read that I can open Terminal by pressing ALT+F2 and type xterm... but when I press alt+f2 nothing happens. :(
Shouldn't it open a window or something? How can I activate this shortcut?
I though that maybe was the ALT key that could be not woring but when I press alt+f8 it works fine... :s
Does anyone konws what am I doing wrong?
I've unlocked the advanced mode already.

    Thanks in advanced,
    Alex

If you've unlocked advanced mode, just right click, and select terminal.

I've had the problem where I'll press alt+F2 and it'll open the run dialog, but leave it in the taskbar. Then when I minimize my current window I'd have like 40 run dialogs stacked up.

Maybe you lost your keyboard shortcuts? ALT-F2 should launch xfrun4

If you've got the right-click menu working, then keyboard settings should allow you to set the shortcut. That's provided that xfrun4 exists.

These shortcuts are defined in ~/.config/xfce4/shortcuts/linpus.xml

    Cheers.

Make sure "Run in Terminal" is checked.

Come to think of it, are you sure you don't just want a bash shell? Same procedure, <alt>F2 and enter bash and make sure Run in Terminal is checked.

Even easier: open up My Files or My Documents from the desktop then click on Files from the menu bar, then select Terminal from the menu.

Hi, already done that to... I went to: keyboard preferences/shortcuts tab and it's there. Command: xfrun4 Shortcut: Alt+F2
I even try to add another shortcut to open this but it doesn't work either. :s

Hi, where? In the Run Program window? I've checked it and still no good...

I can open Terminal. Like I said, I have unloced the advanced mode. So I can open Terminal by rigth clicking and selecte Terminal. But I wanted to know why doesn't the alt+f2 shorcut works where. I don't need it because I use the advanced mode menu to open it, but I should work anyway right?
    So doesn't it? :(

    Thank you all,
    Alex

Have you had any luck? I have the same problems off what sounds like a similar setup and also can't access settings manager (or submenus such as display manager) via right-click menu
