    Hi guys.

I'm sure you're sick with all of these 'I received a Netbook for Christmas' noob questions - but I'm afraid I've got another one for you.

I've got an Acer Aspire One and it came with Linpud Linux Lite installed.

Everything has been great (bar a few odd little problems with Internet pages opening randomly) - but my biggest headache is coming from my attempt at installing the Amazon MP3 player - so that I can pay for and download MP3s to my Netbook.

I've attempted to download all four of the Linux versions that are on offer on the Amazon website (Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian and OpenSUSE) - in the hope that one of them would be compatible with my system. I got fairly far with the installation when downloading the Fedora version, but I then get an error message before the installation has completed (something about 'depenencies').

I would be very grateful for any help.

You have to use the one for Fedora 8, I googled it. I've downloaded 2 albums via my netbook on linpus and they work fine.

Use the Fedora 8 one. The one you tried to download is for a newer version of Fedora, whereas this one works with Linpus.

Hi Dskid - thanks for the speedy reply.

Wow - that was strange. I had another go with downloading Fedora via your link - and this time it installed - without any 'dependencies' error message. Good stuff!

Erm - the only problem is that I can't actually find the installed MP3 player on my Netbook.

It should show up under Network on the advanced menu.

Hi all...Hate to be annoying, but I'm having the same problem...I just used the link above and the rpm for Fedora won't install. I tried it two ways: via the Fedora button and via the rpm link in the text below it. Then in the terminal I used rpm -i amazonmp3.rpm but it gives me:

warning: amazonmp3.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 70e6adf9
    error: Failed dependencies:
    boost is needed by amazonmp3-1.0.3-1.i386
    libboost_date_time.so.3 is needed by amazonmp3-1.0.3-1.i386
    libboost_iostreams.so.3 is needed by amazonmp3-1.0.3-1.i386
    libboost_signals.so.3 is needed by amazonmp3-1.0.3-1.i386
    libboost_thread-mt.so.3 is needed by amazonmp3-1.0.3-1.i386

After I imported the public key, it sorted out the first "warning", but then the rest of the errors are still there.

Am I being thick here? Or have they taken away the rpm that works with Fedora 8?

    Many thanks,
    Alison

An update to my last post: I never did get the downloader to work in my Linpus, so I installed Ubuntu Intrepid instead (and for some other reasons, of course!).
