I do not believe that any linux msn client except Acer Messenger is able to use the camera in chats...

Enter the following in a terminal:

    Code:
    sudo yum install amsn

And confirm. This installs amsn. I don't know how to use it though.

I now have amsn installed but it is the old version and does not connect, how do I update to the new version 0.97?

I have tried downloading from website but I keep getting error code:

The autopackage support code could not be installed.

It can be manually downloaded and installed by running the installation script located in the downloaded archive.
I am extremely new to Linux and finding it hard :)

    Thanks

Well I just answered my own question:

I went to My downloads, then to Terminal
    and then typed:

    bash amsn-0.97.2-1.tcl84.x86.package

and I now have the new version.

I like getting the hang of this :D

I can't be much help because I installed aMSN a long time ago with random commands in terminal (I'm also a linux noob). But I CAN confirm that aMSN works with both camera and microphone (it prompted me to download SNACK or something..)

I've just installed amsn but i'm having problems installing new themes. I've downloaded a theme and it says i should drag the folder to usr/share/amsn/skins/ but somehow linux won't let me! the folder seems locked. I can move the folder on to other folders but not the one it should be in. Can anyone help me?

you need root access to do that... :)

    sudo mv location location

    or su

    then mv location location

    regards
