An Open Letter to Acer

I just sent this email to Acer:

"What in the world is going on with the release of the 6-cell Acer Aspire One? Retailer business practices are abominable and prospective customers are furious and frustrated.

See what they are saying:

There were 2,449 views in 8 days to this thread about the supposed availability of the Aspire one 6-cell at CDW. That's a lot of bad press.

Could somebody from Acer please have the courtesy of visiting the forum and explaining the situation? Why there seems to be so much misinformation about shipping dates and what you can do to prevent your retailers from misleading your prospective customers?

I just called PC Connection since that date didn't seem too far away... They said they're getting their next shipment of those on or around Oct 20th.

Unfortunately Krista, those units that they told you they are getting in on or around the 20th are THE SAME ONES they said were coming in on the 18th of September, and then on the 29th of September...now it has been pushed back to the 20th of October. This supposed shipment from Acer at PC Connections is nothing but vapor!

They put out their magazine with the A)A150-1126 on the front cover with a price of $329. It was the _feature_. They're refusing to honor that price, saying it was a mistake and that it's on page 69 with a price of $399.

Bait and switch IMO
