    Here's my try... hope its usefull
    name it ewf-enabled.reg

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF]
    "NextInstance"=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000]
    "Service"="EWF"
    "Legacy"=dword:00000001
    "ConfigFlags"=dword:00000020
    "Class"="LegacyDriver"
    "ClassGUID"="{8ECC055D-047F-11D1-A537-0000F8753ED1}"
    "DeviceDesc"="EWF"
    "Capabilities"=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\R oot\LEGACY_EWF\0000\Control]
    "ActiveService"="EWF"
    name it ewf-device.reg

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf\Parameters]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf\Parameters\Protected]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf\Parameters\Protected\Volume0]
    "VolumeID"="{1EA414D1-6760-4625-8CBE-4F9F85A48E15}"
    "Type"=dword:00000001
    "ArcName"="multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)"

    Please do take care with ArcName, adjust it with your configuration

    here, i also make it as a package :)

    After you installed all that things above, restart your AA1 and hit awfmgr c: on command prompt
    Thats all.

    I'm also want to make a question does it really necessary to include VolumeID on that Volume0 Key..? :D

    Hi everyone,
    I've modified Group Policies

    [IMG]

    At Startup, added a .bat script with
    ewfmgr c: -enable

    At Shutdown added
    ewfmgr c: -commitanddisable -live
    ewfmgr c: -enable

    With this, all modifications are commited at shutdown, e.g. settings / configs

    You can access GP by gpedit.msc command

    More info at: http://forums.techguy.org/software-development/548398-how-run-command-before-shutdown.html

    *EDT: You need to do it with ewf disabled, since it modifies the protected partition/disk

    Hey there all, firstly, thanks for guide. Works great.
    I still only have 512mb ram but the diff from b4 is amazing.
    First I tried eeepc v.2 xp, very responsive, only 85mb ram usage with all drivers but msn msngr wouldn't work,
    and httctrl.ocx error on every boot.
    Then tinyxp v09, very complete but very slow. Ram usage at 160mb. No errors so far.

    With this trick you have performed the AA1 is lightning fast, actually it's more responsive than my big pentium desktop.

    Thanx !!!!

    This is not needed ;). EWF will start automatically unless you execute: ewfmgr c: -disable.

    Twizzo, tis happened to me earlier..., try tis

    # Before you merge it you need to alter the permissions on one registry key. In regedit, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root.
    # Right-click on Root and click ‘Permissions’. Set ‘Everyone’ to have Full Control and then merge the file by double-clicking on it, ensure that all values were entered properly and then reset the Root key permissions to the way they were before.

    Quoting from a blog in the earlier post... :)

    Hey thanks yeah that worked a treat, all up and running now, the log off scripts are cool but damn do they take ages if youve done a few changes before the computer will shut down, anyone else using the script having to wait 5 - 10 mins on occasion before complete shutdown?

    2-3 mins is a pretty long wait,

    i just moved My documents path to the SD card so it saves my files and game profiles,

    if i install something (rarely) then i type in the commands,

    seems like a pain waiting 2-3mins for it to shut down every time

    Only takes that long if i have EWF disabled, if it's enabled, it's almost instantaneous. No biggie for me, I'm not that impatient, my desktop takes 5 minutes to shut down, so this is no big deal.

    Is this supposed to work on FAT32 file systems? I got a bluescreen when rebooting, had to start the "Last known working yada yada" to get back into windows.

    I'm having problems getting EWF working.

    My setup is as such:

    - Primary Partition 1: FAT16 : XP BOOT -- contains EWF's NTLDR, ntdetect, boot.ini pointing to multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(11) as it should.
    - Primary Partition 2: (hidden)
    - Primary Partition 3: (hidden)
    - Extended Partition:
    - - - Logical Partition 4: (hidden)
    - - - [snip]
    - - - Logical Partition 11: FAT32 : XP -- contains the Windows, Program Files, etc.

    I modified the REG file to read the proper partition (11) but it just doesn't work.

    Is there some kind of setup program, or GUI configuration for Microsoft's EWF Manager ?

    I love the idea of EWF for a specific project (quick boot and operation) but I just can't make it work.

    This is nice. Xp works so smoothly now. But how about antivirus? Is there any good and light antivirus programs that can be installed elsewhere than C-drive? Most of the antivir programs update daily so it can't be installed to C-drive and the ones I tested could not be installed elsewhere than drive C. Or do I even need antivir because C is "protected" with EWF but on the other hand I use ext. HDD and SD-card?
