Just wanted to know if any students or programmers use the AA1 for programming like C++ and Java.

I've done some basic Java projects on this but nothing too ram intensive. Anyone do C++ or C? Using Visual Studio and the like?

    Any input appreciated!

I just got my AA1 yesterday and haven't had a chance to get things set up yet, but I'll be using it for PHP/MySQL development running Apache for testing. Not quite the same as you since I won't be compiling and just use Textmate (OS X) or e (Windows) rather than a big IDE, but programming nonetheless.

I use Netbeans IDE for my Java proyects and it runs fine. Having 1 GB of RAM sure helps a lot.

C# works well on AA1. I use visual studio standard.

All you need to do is use highier LCD resolution. Instead of using the default 1024x600, use something like 1024x768 (scolling resolution) or 1280x1024(scrolling resolution).

Yup got visual studio 2008 Express and SQL Express running, no bother! I just un-pin the toolbars, works well for me :)

CodeGear Rad Studio 2007 runs quite well on it. the startuptime of windows after the initial installation of codegear rad studio is about 15 minutes, after that first reboot, it is back to normal boot times. the program itself starts a bit slow (about 1 minute) but after that runs at a pretty decent speed.
