Anybody know how to turn down the backlight?

    Really, it is very bright even when on battery. Not only is it too bright, but it obviously eats battery life.

    OK, I do know about down-grading my kernel. But that does seam like a stupid way too have tp fix this.

    SO, Is there any software workaround for the fact the bios doesn't want a low backlight level?

    I had to downgrade my bios to get the desired result.

    In mispoke in my post, I meant downgrade the bios. I hate going backwards, but maybe for the best.

    What are you on, and does it run fine (there were some reported lockup bugs on earlier bios's).
