I've managed to get my 'front mic' working by updating my Alsa drivers:

    alsa-driver-1.0.20
    alsa-lib-1.0.20
    alsa-utils-1.0.20

Rebooted and it's working fine :)

I have installed latest Gentoo + LXDE, everything works, except internal mic.
I have 2.6.29 gentoo-sources kernel installed, with buld-in Alsa driver, it looks like the new 2.6.30 kernel solves the problem. I'll try the new one. Could someone share his working kernel-config, only the sound section.

I managed to get my front mic, and build-in mic working, under Gentoo, kernel-2.9.30-r2
    I used kernel build-in alsa driver intel-hda.
    Installed from official portage
    alsa-lib-1.0.20-r1
    alsa-utils-1.0.20-r1

In alsamixer, the build-in mic input is mic, not front-mic, as someone has already mentioned.
Volume of internal mic is DIGITAL, not mic boost or front mic.
To make build-in mic working, set in alsamixer Capture and Digital to values:
    Capture - 75(gain 18db)
    Digital - 75(gain15db)
This values are quite good, otherwise there is too much noise.
If you don't use external microphone, you can mute all volume, gain settings for the external mic.

BTW, WiFi led, also works out of the box with kernel build-in WiFi driver. kernel-2.9.30-r2
I managed to configure all hardware in Gentoo, end everything works like a charm.
