hi, i have installed my 3g modem huawei e160g on linpus. I was wondering if anyone has hacked their modem to fit inside the netbook. Since the modem is small, can we open it up and attach the usb connections wires to the usb internally?!

    Anyone done such a thing?
any info would be nice! thanks in advance.

There's a few guys here that have done that. I personally haven't done it since, I dont wanna get a monthly bill for 3G.

There are solder pads for a spare USB port on the motherboard (CN11). Use the forum search facility to search for "CN11".

In theory you can solder a USB extension cable to CN11 and leave the socket in the 3G bay. You can then use any USB device that will fit in the 3G bay.
