Saw this on ebay £33 is a lot for an 8Gb keydrive, but if it saved a few hours setting this all up and finding drivers etc it could be worthwhile ? Anyone tried these ?

8GB Kingston USB memory stick with Ubuntu 8.04 for One pre-loaded.

Preloaded with Ubuntu 8.04 - this 8GB USB stick turns your One into a more versatile PC!

If you don't like the Linpus software that comes on the Acer Aspire One, then this is the item for you. Linpus might be good for newbies & uber geeks, but if you're somewhere in between...urgh.

Just insert our 8GB USB stick into the USB port, Press F12 at Bootup and select Kingston USB as the boot device. Then marvel as the One loads up Ubuntu! We also supply simple instructions for copying the Ubuntu build to the built in SSD Drive (overwriting the pre-installed Linpus, should you wish).

    This build of Ubuntu includes:
Open Office (a complete Microsoft Office compatible suite)
    Firefox Internet browser version 3
Opera (another browser, both are setup to play YouTube videos correctly)
WiFi-Radar (for quickly connecting to open WiFi hotspots)
VLC Media Player (for watching Divx & xVid movies)
Skype (with working webcam & built-in audio)
3G USB Broadband Dialler - for Huawei E220 MODEM

I've built one that is even easier. With my system, you boot from the USB key and then Restore the backup directly to the SSD drive, just like my regular backup system. No installation required like with a LiveCD on a flash key. The restore places Ubuntu 8.04 on the SSD with all updates already installed, along with VMPlayer ready to access your Windows VM on an attached ext. hard drive. :) The stick can then be used to make regular backups of your Ubuntu computer whenever you think it's time to have a new backup.

Thinking of selling these keys for $49.95 CAD, if there's any interest.

    Cheers.
