Hi! Just an opinion. I can buy the AO751 for 299/- here and the HP mini 311 for 660/- Is it worth it to go for the HP mini ? Not sure about the Asus 1201N here...

on pc AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext is 208 KB size and size on disk 244 KB.
You don't rename it just replace all AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext

    here:

Where is "here"? And are you sure you haven't checked ebay and asked if they could ship it "here".

Personally the dual core asus with the ion would be my option, it has better benchmarks than my desktop. Yes I think it would be worth it, plus its only $450 on ebay, I would check maybe someone would ship it to wherever "here" is.

Australia. You are right - its about 400-450 on ebay. I'll go via that route.

Hi, I create USB memory following the step on page 1. But when I booted up with this USB, i met kernel panic. So Is it related to the BIOS version?

    Dear murakawa0325

You are sure You replaced all AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext size 250kb in nbm0.8.3rc5? No battery and other usb device than usb hd?
Bios doesn't meter which one You have, I'm installing on both bios versions. There is nothing much in bios You may screw.

    Dear brogie

Thank you for your reply. And It is not related to the BIOS version. This symptom is related to the USB HDD. As of now I finish install SL and update 10.6.2. I have one question to copy VoodooHDA.kext. I only copy this file VoodooHDA.kext to /System/Library/Extensions after removing AppleHDA.kext. But when I install Netbookinstaller 0.8.4.pre, the pop-up warning window related to VoodHDA.kext appears on the screen. Is it right action?

    Dear murakawa0325

Seems to be right reaction. I had the same on 10.6.2 upgrade and 10.6.3. I read on MyDellMini forum about leaving VoodooHDA.kext even when there is this popup warning.
My 10.6.3 upgrade seems to be stable after one week and slower graphic doesn't bother.

    Dear brogie

    Thank you for your info.

Now I am updating to 10.6.3. And I am waiting at the step 15. Does it take long time to finish the step 15?
I am waiting for about 15 minutes. But the message "waiting root device" is showed on the LCD.

I've installed it perfectly, well as perfectlly as you can get it, but I'm having trouble installing Windows 7.

I think I partitoned it differently then mentioned in the tutorial which is why the partition active command in the CMD probably didn't work. Can someone point me on the right direction for this? Like post a walkthrough from the begining or send me to a link that helps. Thanks

    Dear brogie

Of course Yes. But my environment is that I have only one partition. This means I have no Windows environment.
Therefore I hava to change some step for my environment. But your tutorial is very helpful for me.

    Hi, Brogie

I followed your step by step 12. After step12, I restored the internal HDD to external USB HDD
and installed NetBookinstaller 0.8.4 pre on the external HDD. Then I checked if I could boot from
the external USB HDD. And I did the step 13 and Step 14. After the step 15, I boot from the
external USB HDD and delete IOATAFamily.kext and installed NetBookinstaller 0.8.4 pre on the
internal HDD. Finally I followed the step 17.

I think I need the external USB HDD when I only use one Mac partition.

    Dear Prombar

Did You make any partition for windows already? if not use Disk manager on Your mac and create fat partition. Reboot with Win7 install DVD and follow installation. You should be able to do that.
