    I ordered a replacement battery from ACER and they sent me a 5200 mAH UM08B31 (P/N AK.006BT.022).

    - Battery doesn't work.
    - It refuses to charge (starts to charge with a constant orange LED then after a while, I get a blinking orange LED. Unit cannot be powered ON from the battery)

    - Contacted ACER and they sent me another one... same problem (sigh)

    - I insert the battery which works (but it's past it's prime). It's a UM08B73, and it works. It charges and powers the Netbook.

So... is ACER sending me the wrong battery?
Per their website, the new battery is supposed to be compatible with my AOA 150-1570 Netbook.

    Am I missing something here???

If you have ordered the battery directly from Acer and if you gave them the correct model of your netbook, I suspect something else is going on here. I too have the same model number you report. I also have an 532h and the batteries are not interchangeable. They won't even fit or attach. As the AOA 110 and 150 were the earliest Windows netbook and if the battery Acer sent you actually fits and locks into place, I'm guessing there is something wrong with your AC power adapter. I ordered an aftermarket 6 cell battery that appeared not to work upon receipt. Then I found that the battery had arrived nearly flat and needed recharging. The AC power adapter didn't have the "juice" to charge a nearly flat battery and run the netbook concurrently. I allowed the battery to charge over night with the netbook switched off. The next day the netbook started normally with the now charged aftermarket battery. I still have the original 3 cell battery. If the newer battery gets down to being nearly completely discharged, the netbook won't boot as the power adapter is overwhelmed by charging the battery at the same time. It could be that your power adapter is failing as well. Try charging your new battery while attached to the netbook over night with the computer turned off.

Both batteries were ordered from ACER and the model number from the bottom of the Netbook was shared with them

Update --> Second battery finally worked after trying several times. The first one never did and still doesn't. I did let it charge overnight with the Netbook off but I was greeted with a flashing orange LED and no charge. The first and second batteries fit as well as the one they replaced.

By the way, I spoke with ACER and they told me to not return the first battery.

The oddity is that the second battery was packaged in the ACER box w/wrappings and shrink-wrapped battery. The first one was in a plastic bag in the ACER package. I wonder if the first one was a customer return? I could have ordered from other sources for a lower price but I wanted the OEM's item for reliability reasons.. seems like this time, the first product was DOA.

    I had the same issue,
The batteries are fine (even the old one)
YOU NEED TO UPGRADE THE BIOS! to Version 3310
I know that it doesn’t make any sense, but when your original battery droped to 70%, your old Bios has a bug not to charge ANY battery... (used or new)

Here is how to fix it:
    http://www.acer.ca/ac/en/CA/content/drivers
    Netbook, Chromebook > Aspire One > AOA150
    Scroll down:
    Bios tab > Download.
    Save file as...
    plug the power cord!!!
Run the bios update, the Acer will restart when done by itself, and the all batteries will come back to life and charge.
