Long time lurker, first time poster.
I have an aoa150 and just got the mpcie header - soldered it down (as well as the power jumper) and popped a second atheros card in with no luck. I wandered around the forums here and it looks like the aoa150 2nd pcie header does not support many devices. So, my questions to this wonderful forum are as follows:

    1. Is the 2nd mini pcie slot only good for "usb" cards? (like the 3g cards)
    2. If not, what other devices have been proven to work?
    3. Are there mpcie wifi cards that work like the 3g cards as far as usb bus based but fit the mpcie slot?

Any other ideas would be appreciated - i was hoping to turn the aoa150 into a pen tester (gentoo) with 2 internal wifi cards. Alternatively, I could wire up an internal usb wifi card, but was hoping to be able to use my 2 atheros cards or make use of my shiny new mpcie slot. Oh, and i usbnet tether my android so 3g is of little use.

Thanks again, if anything the soldering was fun!

    *EDIT
One more thing - If the answer to the above is, "there is no way to use the aoa150 3g mini pcie slot with a wifi card" - then, how can we make it?
I have read some posts about using the right sdcard slot's position on the bus to get a third pci connection. Is this pci or pcie? . . and can we just reroute those wires from the right daughter board to the second pcie slot?

Thanks ahead of time for indulging me.

The second PCIe slot is USB only.
3G card, TV tuner card, etc, but not any PCI bus cards like WiFi.

Yes, you can route the PCI bus wires from the daughter card cable. I tried but forgot to add the 3.3 volt wires, so you might have better luck.

    Under the iron once again!

thanks for the quick reply - I just got done looking at the mb schematics - looks like the daughterboard has PE0 RX+/- and PE0 TX+/- .
Do I need the clock, and if so where to pull from? Where are the suggested point to pull 3.3v from? Are there any other pins I need to connect? Could there possibly be timing issues?
Any other tips, pics, data in general would be a great help.
I think I will attempt this tomorrow at the shop.

    *EDIT
It seems like it might be best to solder the wires directly to the pins of the daughter board cable harness and directly to the pins on the mini pcie connector, and the disconnect the wires in the cable or a the 5-in-one controller rather than splice into the daughter board cable.

I wired all the PCI bus wires to a third PCIe card including tx.

But it did not work, later someone pointed out the need for the 3.3 volt lines.

The second PCIe slot already has the 3.3 volts if you added the jumper.

I would cut the daughter card harness and route the wires directly to the second PCIe connector, that would be the simpliest method. If I remember correctly it is six wires.
