AOA150 Reinstalling XP Sp3 from USB - Stop C0000135

    Hi All,

    I need a little help.

    After running XP sp3 with no issues, I recently had the dreaded hal.dll issue on a reboot.

    I am not sure what happened but I belive I recieved a BSOD which caused a reboot and CHKDSK to run and repair a whole bunch off stuff (too many to remember and list here).
    The hal.dl issue then appeared.

    I thought that this was good time to reformat and re-install XP again, but on selecting GUI install mode I keep getting STOP: C0000135 Unable to find winsrv.
    So I boot off a USB stick
    Select 2 text install mode - this completes fine.
    Remove all partitions
    Reformat
    Install runs fine
    Reboot
    Select 1 GUI install
    Then STOP: C0000135 appears

    I have tried googling and I dont seem to be able to find a good step by step to work through to diagnose the issue.

    Any pointers or advice would be extremely helpful as I am real stuck.

    OK so now it seems to have completely given up.

    I cant even get it to display anything now on power up. All I get is the green power on light and no display - not even access to the BIOS.

    Could this be a hardware related issue?
