i did search this on the site and didnt find anything to help.
ive had windows 7 on my aspire1 for almost a year now. no problems. last weekend i upgraded to a new antivirus and right after that my crystal eye, from what im told, stopped working. ive gone through everything on my computer. updated and reinstalled the drivers. acer support would not help me.
i found that manycam, does work and the picture comes up. however anything like msn, trillian or omegle doesnt work. does not recognize there is a cam present. looking at the cam in "my devices" it says unavailable.

does anyone have a fix for this? or something else i can do to get my cam running again?

    thanks, Grave

More detail about the software change may bring some help.
Did it come with Win 7 installed?
If it did not then when you did the upgrade it may have replaced the drivers it was using and new drivers may not work so you may need to use older drives.
Have you tried to run the webcam software in XP compatibility mode?

Sounds like a place to start may be to check the MS knowledge base pertaining to security essentials and webcams. Sorry I can't be more help.
