I've aquired via a famous auction site an AOD260-A. The netbook has all the classic symptoms of a corrupt BIOS. I have successfully restored the BIOS on an A150 before however this one sems a bit more problematic. I have the service manual, have download the BIOS file, renamed it corectly but can't get it to restore - the USB stick just flashes once briefly.

The next step is change the BIOS chip - replacements are available via same auction site however I can't seem to locate thew chip on the motherboard. There are several chips with 8 legs on the board none of which is marked indicating it is the BIOS. Some of the sites selling chips show the position of them on various boards, but none have the AOD260.

    Can anybody help please?

    Thanks
