    Hi All, this is my first day on the new AA1 and I am totally lost.

    I am having great difficulty finding out how to install a new app, and where it is installed to?

    I tried to install 'transmission' and it says it is installed but where???

    Many thanks

    Garry :cry:

    I have to say I don't know what transmission is!

    Assuming it's a GUI-type program rather than a command line utility, and that it was installed using the add/remove programs functions or using an rpm, it shuld have installed itself to the xfce menus which you get on right-click.

    If you haven't enabled right-click yet, look here-> http://aspireone.wikia.com/wiki/How_to_enable_the_Right_Click_Menus

    Most apps will install into /usr/bin - but not all. Doing this in a terminal will tell you were a particular app is installed:

    which <application name>

    example:

    which firefox

    Cheers.
