I cannot connect my 6530 to the tv which is a new 32 inch flat screen. I have no problems connecting any other system up by HDMI why is my laptop incompatible? Please help as one of the reasons for buying the laptop was so I could play blue ray via my TV.

I too have a similar problem. I could connect to an LG HD (720) tv by HDMI. I now have a Samsung Smart TV. Following the proper connection sequence (from Samsung's how to pages) I get my background picture only. Once I did get the full display and sometimes I get the mouse to show in the TV but mostly just the background picture.

My laptop is an Aspire 6530. Acer doesn't like talking to people beyond there warantee time without a bunch of cash. Are there any driver updates I can try. It's kind of frustrating to have had HDMI connection but have lost it.
