I'm thinking of getting the 512 mb/120gb Aspire One tomorrow, with Linpus, £150 in a local shop. I've never got on with the tap feature on touchpads - does Linpus allow this to be turned off as my Vista laptop does and previous XP did? Thanks.

I have the same spec Acer as in the original question and find the Touchpad too sensitive for my clumsy hands so run with tapping set off. However I find that it has a tendency to turn itself back on sometimes but not always after a reboot and I cannot work out why. It can be turned off again of course but that is a nuisance.

I think it can be disabled once for all in the InputDevice section of the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf . But I'm don't know how. Maybe change the Diver line to show "mouse" instead of "synaptics" ?
