aspire onde d250 freezes when preparing too stand by

    aspire onde d250 freezes when preparing too stand by
    so if i close the lid, the battery will completely drain, because it stays on 'preparing to stand by'
    I GOT THE RECOVERY CDs and RESTORED BACK TO FACTORY CONDITION. . . .and i still have same problem!!!!!!!
    what else is there?
    Had been working flawlessly for 7 months!!!!! then suddenly one day battery totally drained. i thought computer was shot, but no, it worked when i plugged it in. then i slowly realized the problem.
    standy freezes, hybernate freezes.

    this is after 7 months of loving my ability to just close up the lid on the fly- I WANT IT BACK!

    what else can i do?

    no rush any more.
    went out and got an ASUS Eee 1201N 12Inch 3.2lbs including 6 cell battery.
