I have recently moved from Windows to Linux (Lubuntu 13.10) - works much faster, so quite happy with that. Unfortunately though, I have lost the ability to keep the fan noise down as I cant find a replacement for the fan control utility compatible with Linux. I have searched the Net and all I can find is a patch for fan control, but being new to the Linux id doesn't make sense to me. Any help would be much appreciated.

OK, just found this ArchWiki guide

    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Acer_Aspire_One#Regulating_the_CPU_fan

Just need to figure out how to "Add acerhdf to the MODULES array in /etc/rc.conf" and configure it.... :)
