A few more pics, this time with the reader.

This picture is of the general fit/clearances of the reader board. As mentioned previously, all of the Eikon-to-Go reader's parts are all on the bottom side (with the exception of the swipe-reader part itself). At this point I have not removed the USB plug, that's next. I tried not to remove anything from the Acer plastics that was not necissary to remove.

This picture is again of the palm rest on the outside of the case (top side). There is a bit of a slant with the reader, the left side is a little lower than the right, this is because I have not removed the USB connector yet, and it sticks up a bit. The PCB is very thin, and I bent it a little to test the fit since I had not yet removed the connector. Everything is very tight.

More to come as this goes on... -T

You can get a Dell external fingerprint reader off Ebay (or 1 from me) for under $20.00 but the problem is that the sensor will be orientated front to back instead of left to right. This would require you to swipe your fingers from one side of the netbook. See the first post in this thread for pictures of front to back orientation.

The Eikon-To-Go unit allows mounting with orientation of left to right, but is more expensive. There are two posts in this thread showing the Eikon model left to right orientation.
