I've read The Sims works ok on the AAO, but which one is that? The first one? I have the 8.9" XP 120gb original model.

I would really like to play The Sims but I don't have a copy and I can't seem to find out where to buy it as a download. Does anyone know? I don't know how to put the game on any other way.

The sims 1 lags???? Do you still have that Mcafee security thing? I couldn't play SNES games on mine... before I got rid of Mcafee... The sims plays smooth on my old 800Mhz with a 32 Mb video card... this litte Aspire one can play UT2k4... I don't see how the Sims 1 could lag... I'll try it later though... Well, anyway... have fun everyone...

Thank you to both who responded. I actually meant which "One" as in which Aspire One. :D

I have the original 8.9" screen, XP 120gb with 1gb ram.

But since I posted I found out about Sims Life Stories which is a lighter version of Sims 2. Is this game any good, or would The Sims 1 still be better?

I can only find it on ebay. No stores have the old Sims anymore, and I don't know how to use torrents.

    game: Demigod
    RAM: 1,5GB
performance: dont run at all, because the aspire one has 1024x600 of native screen resolution, the minimum requirement its 1024x768( or something like that ); while trying to run keeps giving direct3D error.

    game: Left 4 Dead
    RAM: 1,5GB
performance: unplayable, even with console commands to remove all the possible sound and enviroment effects keeps displaying 15fps, which is an absurd, because doesn't fell like 15fps.

    game: Burnout Paradise
    RAM:1,5GB
performance: caan't run, video card does not have 3.0 shader, at least it was the message i got.

the only thing that matters during gaming are the operating system , mine is vista , the amount of ram , mine is 1gb , and the processor , which is the same across all AO 8.9" .

idk about your sims like stories questions , though , but i saw the site , and it looks ohhkay .

HI there... I'm from Chile. Here I get the AAO with 160" HDD, 1GB RAM and running at 1.6 GHZ.

    I've played this games:

    - World of Goo... this game runs almost perfect. One detail is that in some sceneries the background seems black, just like the goo bals, but in performance, I have to say PERFECT.
    - FIFA 2007. I'm playing this game.. runs great but the best performance is obtained with te AAO connected directly to the electricity (we know that here we can get the best performance of our Aspire One) the screen mode is 800x600x16, and almost everything looks good.
    - Peggle (or something like that) and Peggle Night: is an addictive game, really simple, but not for that a bad game. Run without any problem.

    - I will download the FIFA 2008, because this can be played too. Whe in test this game i will inform to this comunity.

Sorry for my bad english but in my country is not too much speaked.

    Regards.

I appreciate the info on Fifa 2007. I downloaded it and looks good. I can play hockey and soccer. I'm happy. The other games I have are ones that are mentioned on here. I have the Sims on my desktop and I would think it would work just fine on the AOA -150. Compared to the Sims 2 its not nearly as graphics intensive.

I've purchased and installed The Sims Life Stories, via a newly purchased external dvd drive.

Plays fine, but you need to hide your taskbar to see all the menu options at the bottom of the game.

I am assuming here that those with Win7 are not having the luck with games that you do with Win XP, as it seems Win 7 requires more graphics and runs about 330mb more in system RAM. I notice when I load a game from the XP partition it seems to run slower. If it were not for that I'd stick with Win7. Much prettier to look at.
