I have purchased two of them. My first one was the 120G HD version with XP. It did NOT come with a restore CD. My second one was a 16G SSD version with Linpus. It DID come with a restore CD. So it looks like Acer is only shipping restore CD's with Linpus, not XP.

Thanks mine is an XP 8G ssd with an 8G simm card, I only use it for travel and occasional browsing. I was hoping it was suppose to come with the restore software, it was the last one and the box had been opened which made me curious.

All of the AA1s that I have bought originally had Linpus installed. The A110 (SSD) and A150 (HDD) models all came with a Linpus recovery DVD. You can either use this directly with a USB attached DVD drive or boot from the DVD in another PC and create a bootable recovery USB stick, for which a 2GB USB stick is required.

No recovery CD, but a recovery tool.
Kinda worried me when came time to format everything to install Linux.

But then, what would I have done with a CD and a netbook that doesn't have a CD-drive?
A recovery USB stick would've been welcomed tho.

Could not help going back to Best Buy and asking about recovery disks, much to my surprise the Geek Squad guy that had to do some initial work on mine said you did not get your disks? He looked under the bench in his stash and came up with two disks with my name on them, he was a little put off that who ever gave me the machine back did not give me the disks. He was quite apologetic, and I went off very happy with XP-SP3 ans another no untitled Acer disk. Thanks for the input from all of you!
