    Hey guys,

just got my aspire one. seems pretty good so far, however - I can't get the web cam to work.
It is not listed in the device manager and if I try to install the driver for it from the acer support page, it tells me to plug in the camera / camera not found. Is there something that has to be done in order to enable the web cam?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

What OS?? There are some problems with camera under Linux. There is nothing wrong with camera under Windows...

I found your posts in other places - actually three of them with the same question...

    yes, mine has XP.

I'm one of the "lucky" few that doesn't even have the webcam showing in the device manager.
I'll have to get ahold of Acer tech support and see where to go from here.

You should try this, it might get the webcam to be detected:

In device manager, in Universal Serial Bus controllers, disable the one named Intel...USB2 enhanced host controller...
Then re-enable it. When I do this, my webcam disappears, then a popup in the tray says new hardware detected and installs USB Video Device automatically.
