My Toshiba laptops have spoiled me. They have a great power options program. You can decided how much processor to use, screen brightness and all sorts of things.

My Acer Aspire is a disappointment there. And no matter how much I try I cannot get the a1ctl program to work or even understand it. Anyway here's my question: Of the option available on the Acer listed below is there any variance in the amount of processor being used and how can one know. Portable Laptop doesn't even seem to dim the screen like most pc's will do when you select a battery setting. But again, it would be nice to know any variations of the following in respect to the processor usage. Thanks so much! Jack

    Home/Office Desk
    Portable/Laptop
    Presentation
    Always On
    Minimal Power Management
    Max Battery
