    yea i saw that...pretty sweet....

how i woudl justify it compared to the 400$ acer - bigger screen but still small enough to carry around, bigger keyboard, wireless N card

it does have 1/2 the harddrive space though.

but really, i want that bad boy with preinstalled linux and a 20 second boot time!

Hmm, maybe I should have waited a little.
I got my Acer One for 400 bucks (1GB RAM, 8 GB SDD, Linux, 6 cell battery). It's not a bad deal, but I think the EEE PC is more bang for the buck (BT and Wireless N).

I've actually got my Acer Aspire One XP sitting side by side by an EEE PC 1000H XP I ordered from Costco. I thought the value proposition factor of the 1000H would win me over-- but, after a few hours of usage, to my surprise, I find myself gravitating back towards the Aspire One because of some nice engineering touches on the One.

What exactly do you like more about the One?

actually, price drops on the asus 1000H are looking steeper.

zipzoomfly had it for $409 for the 80gig version.

everyone who bought the 1000H for over $500 must be a bit mad ...

actually, here's a better one (imo) ...the eeepc 900 with 16g ssd, 1g ram, and linux with 15 second boot -

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... VqHCjCdwwp

for 340$. unbelievable. If you spec the dell mini, you get 4g ssd, 512 ram, linux with 35 second boot time.
