I cannot get Audacity to accept import of mp3 files and would welcome some assistance from those in the know (INB. I already have export to mp3 and link to library enabled via edit preferences).

I understand you need a file libmad0 installed which would appear to already be installed on the AAO (it is in the list of add / remove software and the box is already checked = installed me thinks ?!)

Does anyone have a clue why I cannot therefore import mp3 with this workaround ?!

Thanks for any help you can give.....

    Hello 1050rat.
Do you mean you managed to import mp3 files into audacity after all? Did you solve that problem?
My version of audacity (installed from the Package Manager) has no provision for recording other than by microphone - no line-in, no Wave-out-mix, no Aux. How did you extract the songs from your HDD?
