Have installed Skype and all works fine.

However I can't work out how to make it launch on startup, only through the icon placed on desktop.

Searched the forum, but can't find an answer.
    Can someone please help?

Given a few details, perhaps: but if you're using Windows the answers for a Linux machine won't help. Give us a clue and people will try to help.

    You might try the following:

Open the terminal, and as normal user enter the following commands:
    Code:
    cd
    ln -s /usr/share/applications/skype.desktop .config/autostart/

The next time you start your AAO you should then (after about 10 seconds) see the skype window.
