My D250 was running fine all day yesterday, until I closed it for about 10 minutes while it was still running to carry it around an airport. When I opened it up, the screen was blank, and it wouldn't come back out of sleep/hibernate. That's happened before...ubuntu doesn't behave sometimes. I did a hard reboot, and ended up with this:

As you can see, I've opened it up. Reseated the connector to no avail. Works fine with an external display. Further investigating the cable and the other end of the connector now.

Also, I've noticed that the dead zone appears to be exactly half of the display. It hasn't suffered any impacts or anything. About to order a new display unless anyone has any ideas.

    WTF!?

Exactly the same as you see it here. Left half of screen is fine, right half is trash.

Definate hardware issue. Now to try and find out if it's the screen or the cable.

If you're not too afraid to open the machine up further, you can try re-seating all the cables. just to make sure nothing's loose. Try disconnecting the webcam and mic from the cable and lastly if you can, try and get yourself another monitor and test that too.

Can't find anything wrong with the cable. Reseated both ends with no luck. New display on the way! Thanks swarvey.

New display came in. Got the little beast back up and running! Display was $69.99 from ebay seller lcdteh889. Gave the case a new paintjob while I had everything pulled apart too.
