    Hey Guys,

    With all the fuss on Engadget and other gadget sites about the 6 cell AA1, how come no one is talking about the AOA110-1566?

    It's listed on newegg.com and buydig.com and has actually been mentioned in the press releases when the AA1 was released in July.

    What's up with the talks about the 6 cell so late if it was originally announced?

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115498

    Acer® Aspire one AOA110-1566: Available for a MSRP of $449 (now $399)

    * Intel® Atom™ Processor N270 (1.60GHz, 533MHz FSB, 512KB L2 Cache)
    * 1GB Memory
    * 8GB SSD NAND Flash Module(3)
    * 8.9-inch WSVGA Acer CrystalBrite™ 1024 x 600
    * Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    * Acer Crystal Eye Web Camera
    * 10/100 Mbps LAN
    * 802.11b/g Wi-Fi Certified WLAN
    * 6-Cell Battery
    * Multi-in-1 Media Card Reader
    * SD Card Reader
    * Linpus™ Linux® Lite
    * 3 USB 2.0 Ports

    However it is now listed at $399 which is actually the same price for the AA1 (with XP) with the 160GB HD and 6 cell battery that
    is going to ship soon. What is the reason for the same price point? Is the linux 6 cell version not going to get a minor price break?

    Wondering if I should go ahead and just place an order for the 1566.

    What are your thoughts?

    Maybe because nobody cares about the Linux model anymore? Acer apparently doesn't.

    If for $399 you can get 160GB HDD 1GB RAM and XP, or 8GB SSD 512KB RAM and Linpus, which one are you gonna choose? Seriously?

    I'd choose the Linpus version. Some of us don't need 160gb and appreciate the benefits that come with the SSD drive, which make the netbook truely portable imo. If the AOA110-1566 was available in England that would definitely be my first choice.
