Hi I noticed that my battery still drains power when my acer is powered off (hibernate).
Could this be a Bios problem?

hibernate, so it should not use any power.

    That's why I was asking.

Any chance you can try the same battery in another AA1 or another battery in your AA1?? Just to clarify what's causing your problem...

I have the same problem but my AA1 is the D250..the battery drains about 18% of power in 24 hours..But if I keep the battery unpluged I have no power drain..
So I think it's an electrical power..maybe something like USB isn't turning off even when the AA1 is OFF..
Like the same Eee 900 problem..Google it..
Somebody have any idea how to fix it?

    Ps:really sorry about my english..

Same problem here with a D250.

About 20-30% loss in 48 hrs powered off with a 3 cell batt.

I raised this to Acer and they replaced the battery under warranty - but this has not changed anything.

When battery is pulled, I lose maybe 2% over a week.

I will log a fault with acer again... hopefully they can fix it. I'd encourage you to do the same.

I have the same AA1 D250 and the same problem with 3 cell battery.
I hope Acer can solve this problem soon.

I had the same problem, tech support told me to do this, and it fixed it.

Unplug the power cord and take out the battery.
Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Plug in the power cord and let it get all booted up.
    Plug in the battery.

I think I needed to restart too.

I've been told the same for my battery drain, but still draining. Anyone get any further with Acer support than this. I've talked to them 5 sessions so far.

I've now been told by an idiot at tech support "This is normal and is not a problem. No need to worry"! I'm beginning to think that tech support is actually just a computer program, not a human.

    I have mine plugged into a kill-a-watt.

I noticed even with the battery removed it's drawing 1 watt.

But the other day I know I saw it go down to 00.

I upgraded to 1.22 bios the other day, I wonder if that's somehow causing the power drain.

I gave up on tech support and filled out a "Fix My Acer" request on line. They had me send it in bare, no cords or power adapter. Was gone for two weeks, came back with a report that they had updated the bios (which I had already done, same ver and date). They also sent a new power adapter which did nothing. IT STILL DRAINS DOWN IN 2 DAYS while not using it at all. Called the service dept. number provided in the repair paperwork. They now have me back to charging and wait and see again. I will call again tomorrow, but this seems an endless run around.

Their tech support is mostly untrained. They know little about these machines. And their repair facility is a general service operation that many companies use. They just run a diagnostic program, update everything, and then if the diagnostic program runs correctly the second time they ship it back to you. Really awful service. You may need to send it in 2 or more times to get a resolution. If it goes back a 2nd or 3rd time they will likely replace your motherboard, which is likely to be the root of the problem.

Be very polite but don't take 'no' for an answer if they keep giving you the run around. Have them pay for the shipping this time around, too, since the original problem was not corrected. Good luck!

    Tracksmart,

OK, I was polite, sent it in for round two, they paid for shipping this time. We will see. I'll keep you posted.

We mine is back from repair 2nd time still not fixed. Spent allot of time on the phone with Acer and they are now having me ship it in for the 3rd time. Fasten your seat belt, it's a long hard ride.

    UPDATE: FIXED!

Well it came back from Texas for the 3rd time. FIXED. The report said this time they replaced the "power board". I charged it up to 100% left it sit overnight, with battery still connected, but OFF, 30 hrs total was at 98% next day for the first time. TrackSmart , you were right to be polite, but persistent. I'm happy now, I like my Acer.

I'm glad it worked out for you. What a nightmare though. Your lost time and productivity is never really a consideration for these folks.
