My AAO started collecting dust because of the poor battery life, so I gave him another chance and bought a brand new genuine Acer Battery UM08B52 6cell, 5800mAh. The machine works on battery apparently without problems, but some things are irritating: If I plug in AC power, the battery indicator lights in solid amber for some time - but linpus says "battery charged 100%". After a while the indicator blinks in amber. Removing AC power has no effect: computer still working, battery indicator still blinking. The "System Information" tool tells me the battery has 0 mAh capacity

It almost looks as if my old A110L (must be of the first batch ever delivered, well over 1 1/2 year old) does not recognize this new battery. Is there a fix? I read about BIOS updates for battery problems, but the problems were different, so I'm not sure this applies. Since I am still at ver. 3109 I might try an update - but I don't know exactly how to do that from linux, all the update tools seem to be DOS/Windos.

    Anybody got an idea?

Tried the BIOS Update. I am now on version 3310, but it didn't help the battery issue. Any more ideas?
