I did a little test tonight of battery life on my Acer One. Stats: 3-cell battery Screen brightness was on the lowest setting, WiFi was on, my 160gb was set to spin down after 3 mins (but I'm sure it was going at times), Windows XP, 1gb ram. I was playing a Divx episode of South Park, on repeat , using Media Player Classic in full-screen mode. Here's the graphs. As you can see, aside from the first 20 minutes, the estimated and actual time remaining were pretty close the rest of the way. I don't imagine it's all that hard to write code to predict time remaining, but it's good code that keeps these numbers so close.
