    Hello everyone,
Has anyone noticed their One's battery life being halved after installing windows 7?
i had RC1 build installed and it was fine. But now I've got 7600 installed and the battery life has halved.
I'm on a 3-cell battery so I'd normally get 2.5hrs of use with wifi on. But now I only get about 1.25/1.5 hrs with wifi on.

Anyone else getting this? I'm planning to do a re-install and see if it'll help with anything.

Just did my install with 7600 last night, battery went about 2:30-2:45 with wifi on. Mostly internet browsing, some downloading of programs, and an AVG scan.

is your wi-fi card set to max power ? If so then it's draining the battery even when you aren't surfing.

Same problem here. I got at least 30-40% less battery life on Windows 7 compared to what I had on Vista. Will try to check wifi setting but I belive its Windows 7s fancy theme with alpha blending and transparency that drains the battery.

Anyone else has a good/bag effects of W7?

nope, nothing to do with the fancy effects cos older builds of windows 7 didn't have this problem at all. I had 7056 and 7100 installed before and non of them had this issue.
Something MS changed in 7600 must have caused this. I have no idea why.

I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about this until you get the actual retail build installed. I have been running RTM (legal) for a couple weeks and I've seen only a minimal decrease in battery life.

I am running Home Premium, which I believe has a lot less background services running. That may have something to do with it also.

I get this problem too, and I'm still on build 7100. I get about, 1:10 at most, with the power scheme on balanced or High performance. :(

Hmm thats odd, I have gained a good bit of battery life on Windows 7. I dont know which model yall are running, but I run the 8.9 model and with the stock 3 cell im right around 2.5 to 3 hours depending on how im using it. If im playing Counter Strike it goes down pretty quick though. This is also overclocked to 1.83 Ghz. This wont matter too much when i get my 9 cell batt though i wont really care anymore, lol.

But even if i only got 30 minutes of battery on windows 7, i would find an AC outlet because i would have to be really, really f'ed up to go back to Vista. Windows 7 on netbooks just makes everything better.

On my HP 2133 I had the RC of 7 on it and it chewed enough battery for me to revert back to XP.

Now on my new AO751h with RTM 7600, I honestly don't see much difference. Playing videos still yields 6+ hours.

The issue with reduction in battery life is a known issue. I also installed Windows 7 build 7100 and I have both 3 and 6 cell batteries and they both lose almost half the battery life under win 7. Now I did just download the new bios 1.21 from the Acer site however I have no clue if it improves battery life or anything else for that matter. All I can think of is to give Microsoft a call to see if they have a resolution for this issue. If I find out I will post it and I would expect the same from others if they happen to discover the resolution.

I'm running rev01 with the 6-cell and manage to get around 4-hours out of it. Not as good as XP, but a minimal difference.
