    Hi,

I have had the Acer Apire One, (Linux), 120GB for about two months now. I have never had anything over 1hr 30minw worth of battery life - and it's particulary worse when I use wireless surfing.

Is anyone else having the same problem - can I diagnose a problem with the battery or change any settings to make it last longer ?

    Help appreciated.

    Thank you.

My SSD-equipped AAO lasts 2:00 to 2:20 hours under XP, maybe 10 minutes more under Linpus and about 1:40-45 with Ubuntu. So the OS definitely makes a difference. 1:30 sounds very little though.

I guess bluetooth, harddrive instead of SSD plus maybe even the extra RAM stick add up and reduce batter life, then?

6-cell is definitely the minimum you'll want if you need to use the netbook for extended periods of time while on the move. 9-cell looks ugly and adds more to the weight, but if you really need to use the machine for a whole day without an external power source it's good to have.
