    Hello,

I lost my AC power cable and the Netbook remain about 2 months with no cable. The battery of course went to 0. Now the new AC adapter (from ebay) came and I plugged it in, in order to perform updates and charge the battery.

Apparently the battery dies though. Is this possible? I see the batter light on/off continuously in orange colour. I removed and re-attached the battery but nothing happens.

From what I can tell, the battery does not work. Is it possible to have a dead battery just like that? Where can I find original batteries at reasonable prices (if it's dead) ?.

Is there anything else I can do to check out if the battery is alive?

    Regards

Does the computer work on AC power alone? If you can start it when the AC adapter is connected, with the battery and when the battery is removed, then it is the battery. But the computer should start and run well on AC power alone.

You don't say how old the computer and battery were before the long shutdown. Maybe the battery had very little life left, and it died during the long delay.

    Hello,

I have no idea how old is the battery, my cousin gave me this netbook because he did not use it in the summer. Yes it works flawlessly with the new AC adapter even with no battery. So I need to buy a new one right?

    Thanks

It looks like a dead battery. You might try cleaning connections on the battery and in the machine with some electrical contact spray or rubbing alcohol, to be sure it isn't just dirty or greasy (that would also prevent a new battery from working.) Hopefully it is not a damaged connection in the machine. Good luck.
