I have 2 ACER ONE Z5 AOA110 Netbbooks and found that if you unplug them from the mains with the machines turned off and the battery still in place the batteries seem to be totally discharged within 3 or 4 days.

They're kept at home at normal room temperature .. any ideas?

Once charged they'll last a good 2 to 2.5 hours and there's never any problems charging them

Both say in the BIOS revision 3.5
    BIOS Version v0.3309

I do notice when you first put in the battery a tiny orange LED light for a split second, I assume this light coming on for a split second inidcates that the unit in some way is always drawing power from the battery even when turned off.

Apart from the self discharging the netbooks both work well.

    The Battery says UM08A73 11.1V 2200mAh/45Wh

    Simplo p/N:934T2870F
    Made in Korea
    Assembled in China

I haven't seen that behaviour on my AAO. When shutdown the battery hasn't shown any drain upon startup, even after a week.
Are you sure that you have shut the AAO's down, and not just put them to sleep (not hibernation, but standby) ?
In standby mode there will be a current drawn from the battery to refresh the ram contents.

i have the exact same problem on mine. I'm running tiny vista. Not sure if it really really shuts down when i tell it to. when I turn it on, it get the acer bios stuff, so it looks like it really shuts down. I can't leave the thing in my bag for 3 days without it draining the life from the battery.

It is the the original battery that came with it. I'm not sure if the bios is the issue, but the acer website only shows older bios versions than the one i'm running.
