I skimmed through the first few pages in this section and looked at a few other battery topics but I have one quick question...

I finally got my AAO yesterday. its the 150-1029 3cell/black one

I was looking at extended batteries and many of the ones I'm seeing are listed as 11.1V but the one that came with it is 10.8V. Also I'm guessing the 3 cells are in series so that would mean each one is rated as 2.9Ah. I've never seen a 2.9Ah cell. Most are 2200 or 2400mAh. Are the cells in the stock battery really such a high capacity?

Will an 11.1V battery work? Why is it listed higher than the stock battery?

    11.1V battery works

    remember

    3 x 2200mah, 3.7V cell in series = 2200mah, 11.1V
    3x 2200mah x2 (parallel and series) = 4400mah (6 cell)
    3x 2600mah x 2 = 5200 mah (6 cell)
    3 x 2200 x 3 = 6600mah (9 cell)

Thanks for the quick response. Do you know where Acer got its 2.9Ah rating? That would be,

    3 x 2900mAh in series

I was surprised of that as well.

I bought an AAO for my girlfriend and to my surprise cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info tells me the design capacity of the battery is 2900 mah !! All the ones I saw before were saying 2200 mah ! I guess there is a new more powerfull 3 cell battery !
