I have been charging my new system for several hours but the battery will not show that it is charged over 77% and the light never turns to green.

Is this a problem or have I somehow messed with the system?

    Thanks

You'll have to check with acer support. Look on their website for your region's number. It's likely to be a hardware failure, so you might have to repair or preferably exchange it. If you bought it from a reputable dealer such as ncix or tigerdirect, you should have a 30 day warranty which you should take advantage of (only takes about 3-5 days to get a new one). Acer's repair can take 8-10 days excluding the shipping time. Another very likely option is that you're not plugging it in correctly. Check the cable to see if it's pushed into the transformer as far as it can go, and that the connector that plugs into your laptop is as well. Just wiggle it around a little, see if you can't get it to work. You can also try another outlet if you haven't already.

    Hope things work out!
