I've searched the forumsand perhaps I missed it, but will the broadcom BCM70012 just plug into the second PCIe slot in the D150? I dont want to have to remove my wifi card from the easily accessible PCIe slot.

    Many Thanks!

Do you know if the accessable slot is a ful PCI bus mPCIe slot?

Does a WiFi card work in the slot?

Okay, I hae the BCM70012 card....now before I tear into my D150, is there actually a second functioning mini PCIe slot on top of the motherboard or is this a myth?

is there a 2nd mini-PCIe slot, yes. Fully functional ? Depends on what you want to use it for :D

    I just tried this today:
I opened my AO D150 then installed the BCM970012 in the internal ("under the keyboard") PCI slot.
I get no result. It doesn't recognize the PCI slot and doesn't see the Broadcom card at all.
    Please help.
    Thanks!

You'll probably find a similar issue the many people out there that have tried the 3G mod have come across. In our cases, pin 20 on the card we're installing has to be taped.

This has something to do with the slots we're using, being pretty much only for WiFi cards or 3G modems. I don't believe taping pin 20 will help in your situation, sounds more like the slot was designed with a purpose in mind. But feel free to try taping Pin 20 and see if it works... You can only try.

Anyone else have some technical info on the slot?

    Thanks for the quick reply.
I was reading about the pin-20 tape mod and thinking I should swap my cards around: put the WiFi card inside (with taped pin 20) and the BCM card in the bottom (accessible) PCIe slot. Has anyone tried this? Or something similar?
Also, does the trick with filing down the wifi switch so that it also goes to the left work with the D150 or is that just for the A (8.9") models?
    Thanks again.

P.S. FWIW, I just flashed the BIOS from 1.07 to 1.11 hoping it would help recognize the internal PCI slot but no dice. Nothing changed.

taping pin 20 only works for usb based cards (like 3g modems).
try a known working wifi card 1st (relocate the one already in the system) and if it doesn't work, then i have no idea....
