Read contradictary information for this card, some saying compatible as is and others saying need to change the kext file id of the card...

Can anyone confirm if this card is ok out of the box?

    Thanks

I ordered this card a week and a half ago and I am waiting for the delivery. From what I have heard it will work right out of the box, with no additional kexts. I will update this as soon as I get it and install it. :D

Thanks - please post your findings. Also which version of OS X are you using.

I also purchased one of these a week ago, but I think Saint Nicholas has got lost in the storms
FYI the white plastic MacBook reports via both SystemProfiler and lspci that it has a BCM-4328
The default 10.5.5 IO80211Family.kext has a plugin for AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext, and the
    info.plist in there lists these Broadcomm NameMatch: 4311, 12, 13, 18, 19, 1a, 20, 24, 25, 28, 2b, 2c, 2d
any of which might be expected to work...

I just installed my bcm94321mc card and it works great! I didn't have to install any additional drivers. Just take the old wifi card out, switch the antenna connectors and plug in my new one. Sorry my model number is a little off but I think most of these cards will work in very similar ways. Couldn't be happier. Replacing the wifi card is definitely the right way to go.

BCM4311MCG aka HP spare 416376-002 probably from one of the Pavilion range,
plug it in, instant wifi. MacOS 10.5.5 with vanilla IO80211Family.kext
This is certainly a fix to recommend
