    IMPORTANT JOBS!

The first job is to update windows go to the start button, then all programs, then click on windows update

Second job is to find a good antivirus program and an antispyware program you need both.

    Here’s a link to free software: http://www.freewarefiles.com/category_17_244.html

Thirdly from within windows create a window recovery point, go to the start button,
type recovery, click on create a restore point then follow instructions.

Fourth create a set of acer erecovery backup disks, there's a great forum link to help you.

    Here’s the link: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=20515&p=115091&hilit=virtual+cd#p115091

If you don’t have access to an external dvdrw then take the iso files to another computer via a usb flash drive to write the dvds.

If you have an other laptop with a dvdrw then this link may help.

    TIPS:

To recover your system back to factory settings press F10 and ALT together.

Note: a factory restore will require you to reload all your driver software and will
include you doing all windows updates, all your previous data will be lost.

F2 key will allow you to alter any motherboard settings

It's worth enabling the F12 option in the motherboard settings this will
allow you to boot from different devices.

Booting from an external device: It's better to boot from an external device using
the F12 option, some times setting the motherboard to boot from an alternative dvd type device
can fail, reasons are the external device may not identify itself to the motherboard fast enough and fails.
