    The possibilities I see are:

    1) USB 3G powered off AAO
    2) USB 3G battery powered
    3) Bluetooth teather
    4) Hardware hack to install internal 3G
    5) Buy 3G AAO

My persenal pref. is 2 or 1.

In the past when I tried BT teathering 3G service it had poor performance for my needs. Though for many with light/moderate needs this is probably the ideal solution.

I would love option 4 if my hands and eyes wern't 55 years old and well past the skill set needed.

    Between 1 and 2 it's a power issue. 3G is a bit of a pig.

Option 5 is probably correct, except for the fact that I hate to give in and pay.

I have had good success with bluetooth and a Windows Mobile Tilt. It works with cable or without (my preference). Speeds are decent for surfing and email.

A usb AAO-powered 3g dongle would be best in my opinion, as it would draw less/as much power as a bluetooth dongle plus you have more to go wrong with a device that's paired via bluetooth. I'd say keep it simple.
