Best Games for Acer Aspire One?

    Hello,
    I was wondering what some of you thought would be the best games for playing on the Acer Aspire One?
    This would mean that they are the best of the games what run well on the system as well as just being a great game to play.
    Best FPS Game?
    Best RTS Game?
    Best Racing Game?
    Best Action Game?
    Best Sports Game?
    Other?

    Thoughts?

    i play these on my AA1.

    Diablo2
    Diablo
    Warcraft 3
    Roms+emulators for NES,SNES,N64, NEO GEO, Sega, MAME
    Popcap games
    Warhammer 40k Dawn of War.

    That's about it..

    I have been going through a tonne of my old (well not so old) skool games and have settled on a few I'd all but forgotten about.

    Starcraft - RTS
    Fallout 2&3 - ROLEPLAY
    Grand Prix Legends - RACING
    TOCA 2 - RACING
    Day of the Tentacle - POINT AND CLICK ADVENTURE
    System Shock 2 - FPS
    Half Life - FPS
    Serious Sam 1 & 2 - FPS
    Baldurs Gate - ROLEPLAY
    No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 - FPS
    & The original Call of Duty and Expansion pack - FPS.

    All of these games seem to run with no problems on the lowest settings and some even maxed out!
    You will need to tinker with some files to get around the screen size issues for some games but there are plenty of people already making headway with doing this and a simple search on Google gets you the advice you need.

    I have really enjoyed going back to some old classics - has anyone else got any suggestions for me to try out?

    Oh yeah I also "play" fallout 3 on my AAO :D . You must have some kind of leet skillz to get that fallout 3 work on AAO :)

    I was very impressed w/ how well GTA: Vice City ran on my AAO.

    I kept having random crashes/lockups on System Shock 2, so I gave up on it.

    Quake 2 is fun for some mindless violence.

    Warcraft 3 is always good to satisfy your RTS needs.

    Max Payne is a great game.

    The Sims 1 runs well.

    Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is a very fun game.

    I'm tinkering w/ trying to get the 1st magic: The Gathering game to work correctly.

    I read the Republic Commando will run; that's one of my favorite FPS.

    NOLF 2 runs well on my AAO.

    Any suggestions for 3rd-person action/rpg/shooters?

    FEAR? What settings? Hows the framerate? Hard to imagine since this is a pretty modern game.

    Anyone recommed one off the old school type space invader games that I could freely d/load off the net and install on the acer ?? also I take it you are all using an external drive to run the games from with the acer ??

    Hey, can you give me a little more information on that? I've searched google for it, but don't know exactly how to word it to find good results. I play WolfTeam, an online FPS, and it makes me play it in 800 x 600, which makes all the words and the map really big and some stuff goes off the screen, so it's really hard to actually see the gameplay going on. The next step up is 1024 x 768, but it won't let me select that. Is there anyway to trick it into 1024 x 600 setting? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    :O how did you get that to work? I just get an error sayiing that the graphics card does not support z-buffering :(

    I believe he is referencing Fallout 3 in this case as Fallout Tactics (The third fallout released), not the new Fallout 3.

    i love playing grand theft auto on it works perfect for on the go and whenever lol...

    dno if i can post a dowload link on this fourm site because i dno the terms and it is copyright just a hint if you want the game give it a youtube search


    i run them off my flash drive 8gb seem as my hdd is only 8gb with the aa1 :shock:
