Did anyone find a "best fit" usb powered external drive for the Aspire One? Please tell me what you liked and you didn't like about it? Thanks!

I use a modified Apple Macbook Air superdrive. No need for extra power to burn DVDs. Looks nice, cheap and reliable.

I was given Acer super multi drive dvd, usb powered, but cannot get it to work. Acer seems to think they do not make this item, although it is on the online catalogue. Anyone got an idea of how to make it work under Linux?

I bought an LG GP08 at Best Buy that burns and watches all DVD types and CD types. It plugged and played into the bios without an operating system and runs off of USB power. It was $85.00, it seems to be ok

    Hi,

I've seen a lot of positive reviews of the LG GP08LU10, and it sounds like the burner for me...except for one thing. The spec sheet (http://www.lge.com/us/computer-products ... _sheet.pdf) says it runs on, among other things, XP Pro--not the XP Home that came installed on my Aspire One. So I'm wondering: will this burner run on XP Home?

    Thanks!
