I have just rebooted after installing BIOS 3212. The update was performed using the Windows installer and I had no problems at all.
I only wish I knew what this new BIOS version is updating/fixing...

Can't they, just for once, add a changelog text to the upgrade package? Gee, it's not that hard!

I installed it and noticed no difference.

I agree it would be nice to know what issues they are addressing with all these BIOS updates.

I have a Toshiba laptop that has had 1 BIOS update in over 3 years of production.

You mean you installed a bios update without knowing anything about the changes ? Why then did you install it ?

Because there is hope and faith in the Acer's support team!

Since no version of the numerous BIOS updates for the 751h was provided with any information at all about what fixes, we should not try any of the updates?
Then why are they published? Just for the Acer techs, who also compile them?

I wish I knew... my system suffers from really rare freezes and since no BIOS update explains what it fixes, I always update the BIOS to the latest version hoping that it lead to freeze elimination. :?

Is there anybody out there that knows that a specific BIOS upgrade will improve his system? That would be impossible since there's no documentation explaining the BIOS new features!!

I will install this to see if the Bios can fix the freeze problem.

Update: Nah, the freezes still remain. I need to send this for repair with Acer support.

Just curious. Does the "freeze" require a "slam" shutdown or can a 3 finger salute fix it.

Hi. I am trying my Acer with the new bios 3212 and everything now is perfect!

    1) No freezes in Microsoft Word with scrolling pages and with Skype calls!!!!!!!!!!!

    2) The VGA port output for external monitor now is ok and fast.

Thanks to ACER that finally solved these issues. They will need only to use a changelog file to explain the fixes.

I reccomend to everybody to install as soon as possible the last new BIOS 3212 available on the Acer official website.

How long have you been using the new BIOS 3212?

As far as I know there are some users around that even though they updated to BIOS 3212, they still have the freeze problem... :(
I have updated to 3212, too, but my 751h freezes so rarely that I may be lucky so far that I haven't face a freeze yet. I will come back when I face the first freeze with 3212 BIOS.

    Good luck anyway!

First option, require a slam shutdown, however I never tried the 3 finger salute. What is this?

    Hi all,
I just installed this version and the only difference is that the games and video performance in windows evaluation changed from 2,4 to 3,5. I got serious improvement playing Warcraft 3. I recommend to install this bios version as soon as possible.

    Cheers gma 500 users!!

EDIT: Actually the improvment playng Warcraft 3 wasn´t so noticeable. It´s almost the same, maybe a little smoother. Don´t really know why the win evaluation changed so much.

    This thing is flaky.
(Acer Aspire One A)751h 1GB Win XP, standard HDD )
Sometimes boots sometimes not, sometimes runs, sometimes locks up in seconds.
Got the windows phoenix flash util, but as it is the same version of the BIOS, it refuses to install it! apparently phoenix never heard of RE-flashing the same code into a funky bios chip! Wow, what a stunnning concept!
So now what do I do, pound sand?
